Having a family dinner together helps build and maintain strong relationships between family members and relax at the end of the day.
However, having a family dinner time can be stressful.
When dinner time calls, the anxiety of figuring out what to cook and managing time is getting out of hand, adding to the concerns of pleasing my kids with their meal.
However, I’ve discovered a few techniques to reduce dinner time stress and create a more enjoyable meal time.
Meal planning

Although I don’t do this as much as I should, I make an effort to plan my meals for the week as much as possible.
Creating a weekly meal plan. This allows me to have a clear idea of what to cook each day and reduces dinner time stress.
Example: I boil a whole chicken and use it to make several meals throughout the week, such as barbecue chicken sliders, chicken salad and tacos.
Knowing what to have for dinner every night instead of improvising greatly reduces my dinner time stress.
Flexible Dinner Times

I pride myself on being punctual and satisfied when things happen on schedule.
According to our specific arrangements, dinner is scheduled for 6:00 PM, and I am doing my best to ensure that it is served on time.
A friend persuaded me to be more flexible to make dinner time more enjoyable for everyone.
Furthermore, not showing up on time also made me irritable and my attitude affected my family.
Since I decided to be more flexible with dinner time, our family meals are more relaxed even if we eat at 8:00 PM.
Unleash Culinary Magic: Embrace the Art of Simplicity

When it comes to cooking, I can be a bit of a perfectionist.
I always want to wow my family with delicious, healthy and creative meals that will expand their palates.
Yet, the weight of these self-imposed expectations began to dampen my enjoyment in meal preparation.
Although I still strive to give my family memorable dining experiences, I’ve come to terms with the fact that serving leftovers, frozen dinners, or an occasional fast food meal doesn’t make me a bad parent.
Rather, it is in my acceptance of this reality that I find solace, realizing that being a remarkable parent is not solely defined by the meals we serve.
